I had such a good time at the He Said. She Said. Workshop last May that I decided to head to Detroit to do it again. Can’t get enough! All the photographers=awesome, Jean and Travis=awesome, models=awesome, sponsors=awesome, you get the point.

I just got back from a little vacation in Utah to see the fam. Love to visit! The fourth of July in my little town is the bees knees. It pulls out the inner red-neck in me every time. LOVE. IT. Speaking of the bees knees, I am crazy about this cute little girl!
I think I am due for another FASHION FRIDAY. Next month I am doing a session for a client with 2 girls and 3 boys. When putting together clothes for your session try to think of all the clothes as one outfit. Start by picking a bold pattern (plaid shirt). Then coordinate the rest of the clothes around that pattern. You don’t have to match exactly but try to stay with in a few color families. Try to find one unique or bold accessory for every outfit. You want everyone to coordinate but each person in the image should be able to make a statement on their own

I was lucky enough to photograph two of my favorite girls, from Michigan, during the He Said. She Said. Workshop. I use to practice on these cuties when I was first getting into photography. I just love their little faces!
If you are going to do one workshop this year, this one is a MUST! I can’t hardly wait, in fact my bag is already packed and it is 2 months away. It is like two workshops in one. You get the extremely creative, unbelievably talented wedding, child, newborn, senior (she does it all) photographer Jean Smith. But wait don’t stop there you also get the super duper gifted, senior, commercial,knows everything about Photoshop (it’s kind of freaky), lighting genius photographer Travis Smith.
On top of all their knowledge they are super cool, always a good time, like to get crazy in the wee hours of the night, kind of funny, and never win at speed scrabble. You don’t want to miss this!

My incredibly beautiful, incredibly talented sister came to visit. We USE each other….it is NO secret! She is an amazing interior designer. She spends all my money and decorates my house (pictures soon to come) and I take pictures of her adorable little girl! It is a WIN,WIN!
I don’t know if it is the holidays or the sappy music I am listening to, but I am a wreck. Totally crying as I edited this session. I have to say living close to a huge army base has really given me a great appreciation for the men and women that protect our country. I am so proud to be an American and to live in this great country. When I drive by Fort Bliss it literally takes my breathe away.
I was lucky enough to capture my beautiful, sweet friend and her family before her husband gets deployed in a few months. I have several friends with husbands deployed and it is such a sacrifice to be without their husbands and their kids without their daddy’s. Sheesh! I have to stop right now….seriously I am a mess today!
