Fashion Friday

June 10, 2011

I think I am due for another FASHION FRIDAY.  Next month I am doing a session for a client with 2 girls and 3 boys.  When putting together clothes for your session try to think of all the clothes as one outfit.  Start by picking a bold pattern (plaid shirt).  Then coordinate the rest of the clothes around that pattern.  You don’t have to match exactly but try to stay with in a few color families.  Try to find one unique or bold accessory for every outfit.  You want everyone to coordinate but each person in the image should be able to make a statement on their own

workshop – part 2

June 1, 2011

I was lucky enough to photograph two of my favorite girls, from Michigan, during the He Said. She Said. Workshop.  I use to practice on these cuties when I was first getting into photography.  I just love their little faces!

Shopping for little boys is right up there with getting a root canal.  I KNOW!   I have two boys and two root canals.  The little girls section is 80% of the store and the little boys is well less than 20%.  I have been a self-proclaimed little boy stylist for 8 years now. I have found the few nooks and crannies that have some cute boys clothes.

Always remember to dress in layers.  Pair a polo with a button-up shirt or blazer.  We are limited on accessories but grab a cool hat or tie.  If your little guy is into skateboarding, guitar, or football bring those things to the photo shoot.

Fashion Friday

I swear the reason I never get pictures taken is because I never can find anything to wear.  When you DON’T have time or money you find the cutest clothes, but when you are on a mission….NOTHING!  Here are a few little numbers I thought would be great for pictures.  Remember just because you think you look good in something doesn’t always mean in photographs the best.  Look for bright bold colors, a pair of fun shoes or an edgy hair accessory.
